Sr Maria Goretti and Sr Marie Therese returned to their former home in the East End of London in April 2009

We sincerely thank them for their years of commitment and dedication to the people of the parish, and we wish them well as they settle back into their former familiar surroundings.

In 1983 a number of religious were anxious to set up small convents in newly established parishes in Dublin, Following discussions with Archbishop Dermot Ryan, Mother General was invited to make contact with the Parish of Our Lady of Good Counsel, Johnstown. It was in close liason with (the late) Fr. John Dunne p.p. and Fr. Pat Mangan c.c. (now retired) that No.1 Churchview Avenue was acquired in May 1984.

A number of Sisters were assigned to our community, Sr. Francoise Monique taught in St. Joseph of Cluny, Sr. Marie Therese nursed in St Gabriel's Hospital. Sr Maria Goretti, Sr Mary Sr Mary Pius and Sr. Raphael worked in our Parish.

They will be sadly missed.
